Shri M. D. Mehta Girls Hostel, managed by Shri M. D. Mehta Education Trust, was established in the year 1976 by 14 students. At present, 500 students are studying together without caste discrimination. Equal priority was given to all castes in Shri M. D. Mehta Education Trust Girls’ Hostel. Admission is given for the purpose of studying together without caste discrimination.

“The E-Library” project has been started in the school premises with the aim of making every girl child benefit from computer education and using the latest technology without having to spend on books. Students studying in primary, secondary, higher secondary, college, or as dropouts can take advantage of this in various ways through the digital medium. In which Std. 11-12 science students can prepare for exams like NEET, JEE, and GUJCET through digital means. Also Commerce and Arts students will be able to do basic computer courses including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation, Gujarati Typing, and Report Writing.
With a view to maximizing the use of renewable energy sources and making the institution fully solar- based, a ‘Solar Roop Top’ has been implemented throughout the institution to become an example for all educational institutions around. It is planned to generate 100 units of electricity per day from a 23 kilowatt plant.

To make girls The Light of the Knowledge Lamp of Shri M.D Mehta Education Trust has enlightened the hunger for education and spread awareness to nearby 5-6 km of area and has been trying successfully to make the society educated since last 5 decades. Education is the only lamp of knowledge to remove superstition, poverty, backwardness and social evils. Dhrol is an area where transportation ends and interior villages begin where agriculture, forestry , where the population is dispersed, migrated tribal families who earn their living by doing labor work on daily basis. The thought about how to make children of such families educated came into the mind of Shri M. D. Mehta Sir; he ignited the flame of knowledge in the form of education 50 years ago and had a lot of discussion related to this with our present Secretary Madam, Shri Sudhaben Khandheriya.
